FAQ

Do I need to supply my own doorknob? No — we can source standard hardware. If you want a specific brand, finish, or smart lock model, purchasing it ahead of time and having it on hand when we arrive is fine too.

Can you replace multiple knobs in one visit? Yes. Most homeowners with older hardware save money by doing 2–4 knobs in a single visit rather than separate callouts. Let us know how many when you book.

What if my door frame is damaged or the door doesn’t close right? We’ll tell you on-site. Minor adjustments to strike plates and latch alignment are included. Larger frame or door repairs are quoted separately — we won’t surprise you.

Do you install smart locks and keypads? Yes. We install most standard smart lock models (Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, etc.). If you have a specific model in mind, confirm it fits your existing door prep before purchasing.

How long does a doorknob replacement take? Most single knobs take 20–30 minutes. Multi-knob visits and smart lock installs take longer — plan for 45–90 minutes depending on scope.

What’s the $194 minimum? That’s our minimum callout charge for any visit in the Kansas City metro. It covers most single-knob swaps completely. If your job is smaller than that in parts and labor, you pay the minimum — not more.

Can you match my existing hardware finish? We’ll do our best. If you want an exact match to existing hardware (brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, matte black, etc.), picking up the hardware yourself before the visit is the safest way to guarantee it.

What if my doorknob is an unusual size or old construction? Older homes occasionally have non-standard bore holes or plate sizes. We’ll identify this upfront and tell you what’s needed before proceeding.

Do you haul away the old hardware? Yes — we take the old knobs and packaging with us. Nothing left behind.
